mdbrain

Automatic labelling, visualisation and volumetric quantification of 3D MRI data of the head.

The product is intended for automatic labeling, visualization and volumetric quantification of 3D MRI data (in DICOM format) of the head. The software automates the currently manual process of identifying, labeling and volumetric calculation of segmented brain structures on 3D MRI images. The calculated volumetric data, in addition to the image data at hand, can assist radiologists in detecting neurological diseases. mdbrain includes a core module (volumetry and lesions) and two optional modules (tumor and aneurysm detection).

mdbrain

Brain Volumetry

Automated volumetry of various brain regions for differential diagnostics and follow ups. Precise, quantitative statements on atrophic or enlarged structures. For each evaluation, the deviation from the normal value is shown. For this purpose, the results are compared with a comprehensive and heterogeneous database based on age, gender and intracranial volume. Supports the diagnostics of Dementia: Volumetry of frontal lobes, parietal lobes & temporal lobes (with hippocampus). Multiple sclerosis: Volumetry of the whole brain & thalamus. MSA, PSP, CBD: Volumetry of nucleus caudatus, putamen, pallidum, cerebellar cortex and mesencephalon.

Lesion Characterization

Automated characterization of white matter lesions for differential diagnostics and follow ups. Initial diagnostics and monitoring of disease activity in multiple sclerosis and dementia with one tool. Characterisation includes regional assignment according to MAGNIMS/McDonald criteria and differentiation of new and enlarged lesions over time. Supports the diagnostics & monitoring of Multiple sclerosis: In the diagnostic setting: Automatic comparison with diagnostic criteria and norm values. For therapeutic monitoring: Automatic detection and measurement of new and enlarged lesions. Dementia: Complements classic scales, such as Fazekas score, with objective quantitative analyses.

Aneurysm Detection

Automated detection of aneurysms for differential diagnostics and follow ups. Precise detection of intracranial aneurysms. Rapid evaluation of the number and volume of aneurysms and their development over time. Supports the diagnostics of Aneurysms: 10–15% of intracranial aneurysms are overlooked during the initial assessment. mdbrain helps to significantly reduce this rate.

57% time saving in dementia diagnostics

39% Accelerated reading of MS follow-up

100% Detection of aneurysms >5mm
